Vision for the Future

The Gospel Tent started in 1966 in a small tent at the Fulton County Fair. The new vision for the Fulton County Music Ministries is to have a permanent building where churches and groups can share their talents while lifting up the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.

The first part of our plan involves working with the Fair Board to determine a site for our new building. Possible locations will be determined based on the future plans for growth of the fairgrounds. For 2010 we are moving to a new site located at the north side of the Veterans Pavilion. Unlike our past location, this new site is out of the main flow of traffic at the Fair. After the fair we plan to evaluate the effectiveness of this site and look forward to your feedback.

Next, we need to determine what type of building will best serve our needs for the future, and perhaps even the needs of county residents. To provide the best acoustics for our musical groups, the building will need to be made from wood, not metal. The design of the building needs to factor in our continuing desire to bring in nationally-recognized performers for Sunday evening.

And finally, a plan must be put in place to finance both a new building and the future performers at the Fulton County Fair. We would like to set up a foundation – allowing businesses, churches and individuals to make large donations to this building fund. The process of raising funds will be a major project that will help ensure the future of our organization.

The Fulton County Music Ministries board is always asking God what His plan is for the gospel center. Prayer support and input from believers is imperative as we look to the future. He will show us His way as we wait upon Him.
